Learning How NHTSA Conducts Tests

One of the safety ratings that vehicles have is the NHTSA. This is an important rating system because it is funded by the federal government. This rating has its own testing system which brings its own results that can influence the type of ratings the vehicle is going to get.

The system that the NHTSA uses is the star system. They rank the ratings from one star to five stars. The higher number of stars that the vehicle gets will indicate a greater safety rating. Meanwhile, if the vehicle gets only one star, then the vehicle has a poor safety rating.

Among the tests that the NHTSA puts the vehicle through is the rollover test. This shows the likelihood of a vehicle to get into a rollover. If the likelihood of rollover is small, then it is going to be a factor in how high the safety rating of the vehicle is.
